Myke
For an added bit of interest on your mute pedal, why not give it a flashing LED? Makes it a lot more obvious that the killswitch is engaged, as it were I did this for a mute switch I built some time ago and it work really well. I used the circuit and calculations on this pic -- it's a tiny circuit and easy to make up on a little scrap of vero, I mounted mine on the legs of the LED itself. R3 can be lower in value than 1k if you prefer a brighter LED.
I found this one with just a on LED which I thought would be cool. Depending on how easy I find it, I might just do that too

paul_5
Been playing around with my BB preamp clone (Big Beefy Booster from pedal parts) recently as the 'drive' settings were a bit 'sh*t or bust' for my tastes. I've settled on altering the value of R6 (in the feedback loop of the 4557 opamp) to 2.5kΩ (it was originally 10kΩ) to lower the minimum amount of gain on the 'drive' knob, and replacing the 1MΩ Linear pot with a 1MΩ Log pot, which gives a whole lot more control at lower settings. Happy days.
jetofuj
GGG Brassmaster. I must say that it's great. To my ears it's closer sounding to original Brassmaster than B:Assmaster that I've been using for years.

jetofuj
I'm sort of oldschool when it comes to wiring, but pcb mounted toggle switches seems like a clever idea. Current production B:Assmasters have all pots and switches pcb mounted and I don't like that.
Hammond sell direct I believe and do a few solid colours. I think Rapid or Mouser have some colours perhaps, although would need to check. I'm currently struggling with this too, including screen-printing, very tough to find decent services in the UK, we do not have even a quarter of the choice of what the US does Si

Sibob
A Poultone Trooper Booster prototype here. Custom stencilled art-work for a friend who's just a bit of a Star Wars fan! :-P Some PCB design revisions to make before release, plus artwork decisions, but sounds nice at this point Si
Sibob
Handy tip: Frustrated with trying to solder single pin sockets? Have your third hand hold your PCB with one clip, then place your socket on a discarded snipped component leg, and have that secured in the second clip. KingBollock
Going to start making some pedals soon. I have ordered the parts for the first three, but they are very simple. A double bypass loop pedal, order switcher and a three switch pedal for my Peavey T-Max (channel, eq and fx loop switches). All really simple, but still useful, to get me started. The only worry I have about them is finishing them, but I have some, what I think are, nice ideas for them. Actual effects pedals that I would like to make would be a Bass Big Muff Pi with as many mods as I can find, a bass chorus and a bass flanger. The thing is that I don't want to make my own PCBs and I don't want to buy them, I would far rather use stripboard. Finding plans for such pedals is proving difficult. Can anyone help with suggestions for pedals and where to find plans for them? Unfortunately I have forgotten almost everything I learned when I did electronics in college, but I can read instructions/diagrams and I am still quite handy with a soldering iron. I am hoping some of what I learned will start to come back and help me with experimenting, until then prepare for a bunch of stupid questions...
