Can anyone point me in the direction of the smallest 8ohm, 300w cab you can think of.

I looked through the 'lightwieght cabs' thread but I'm talking really small. I know of a Genz-Benz 8" cab but only at 100w rating.

Consider that this is regardless of music style and volume as its just for bedroom playing along with my LMII.

Any ideas?

Hartke have a little 1x12 300w cab, switchable between 8 and 4ohms:

Ibanez also have the Promethean cabs and combos:

4ohm and 500w, should be ok with a LMII

Thanks alot for the informed reply. I like the sound of that Ibanez, didnt realise they did amp gear. Does anyone have any experience with these, first hand would be good but any recylced information on this cab would be appreciated too.

Thanks again

maybe this?

Schroeder Mini 10+

I use Shroeder and couldn't be happier. (They can be bought in the UK too)

It may be a bit pricey depending what you want to use it for, but it would always have a decent resale value...

Tecamp 1x10 or EA VL110 are close enough at 250 W. For less than the price of either one of those Roland Combos with 4x5" drivers.

Why on earth do you need a 300W cab for bedroom playing? 100W is plenty, just back the gain off!

I am old and stupid so forgive me asking this but where can I find this 121 that you speak of

I have klooked but cant seem to find it. Can you set up a link please? Thank you ever so much. :)

EDIT: oh and the reason I am after 300w is because I will be running a Markbass LMII through it. I didnt want to risk damaging it with too much input.

Oops. Oh well, I could edit it but I think it demonstrates just how old and stupid I really am so may as well leave it.

Having heard the Midget on stage, they are very impressive and made of helium and hummingbird feathers http://barefacedbass.com/index.php?page=midget

It may be slightly too large or too expensive for the OP's needs, but the beauty of the Midget is that it's small enough to be unobtrusive at home, but powerful enough to work well in many live situations.

There are loads of threads containing info on Schroeders mate.
Just so you understand JUST how light the Schroeders are, I left mine on the floor outside a gig and a gust of backwash from a passing toddler on a trike sent it up into the stratosphere.

...Well OK that's an exaggeration, but the real truth is that while my old wardrobe sized 2x15 used to nearly bust my hump to move, even with it's castors, but my 2x tiny Schro' 1515L's can be lifted to shoulder level, one in each hand with my arms outstretched. that's 4 (YES FOUR) 15's in a weightlifting *fly* type movement! (fact)

On the other hand, you should research the sound they give because they aren't exactly transparent. I can't say too much about the mini cabs, because I haven't heard them, but I think the smaller they are the more apparent the colouration.
