MIJ Fender Jazz w/ Bill Lawrence pickups

Ladies and gentlemen of BassChat, I give you - one Made in Japan Fender Jazz in superb condition with no noticeable dings or marks. The 'Q' serial number at the base of the neck dates the bass to 1993-4. I bought it from Denmark Street about three years ago when I took up bass again and it's served me well since. Why am I selling? Simple, I bought a '75 reissue recently so this has to go. Pictures:

(I can send larger versions of these images, if required)

The bass is loaded with noiseless Bill Lawrence J-45 pickups, purchased from BassChat's own Pete aka mybass in June. It's a little hard to find technical info on Bill Lawrence's website, but see here for a review and discussion of the pups, and herefor sound clips. Tone is very subjective but 'full-bodied classic Jazz' sums them up for me. I never gigged with them but they're hum-free in my practice room. Unsure? Ok - I'll throw in the stock Fender Japan pickups FOR FREE, if you'd like the choice.

As you can see, the Jazz has a black scratchplate but you have the option of (the originally fitted) white or tortoiseshell, if you'd prefer either of those. Everything else on the bass is stock, and the strings are a set of played-in DR Hi-Beams. You probably know how highly rated Japanese Fenders are; this Jazz lives up to that reputation.

Price? £350 shipped or £330 collected from SE London (I'd really prefer not to courier this).

You're welcome to try out the bass over a cuppa, of course, and PM me if you have any questions.

Thanks for looking,

Doug

Thank you, Mr Machines. The old (nowadays) Nikon D70 makes it hard to take bad photos :), though the full-frame D3
looks fantastic...
