I just love the way random members of the public always say 'can you play this, its really easy', and they are always people who don't play anything and almost never can remember all the words anyway. 3 hours ago, casapete said: Indeed - it also makes me laugh when someone asks for a request, and when told the band don’t know it they start singing it to you as if that will help, usually whilst you’re playing another tune as well. 😆 3 hours ago, Stub Mandrel said: It's the ones who stand in front of the drummer with either the lyrics or a video on their phone during a different song and expect the band to absorb it by some magical process. 3 hours ago, neepheid said: Ooh, not seen that one before! Had a bunch of bladdered lads at one gig who really wanted their mate who was “really good” to get up and do a Suede song in the break. Not our style, no we don’t know it, and no you can’t borrow our instruments or plug you phone into the PA 🤬Maybe you should form your own band. Best one recently was the girl who came up asking if we did any Bon Jovi (at least the right genre) just as our singist belted out “SHOT THROUGH THE HEART…” 🤣 5 Quote

I should have known. Have you looked up the story about the CIA stalking Bruichladdich when their virtual tour web cams broke down? 1 Quote

Their 60% offerings are pretty near to being weapons of mass destruction! 2 Quote

To be fair @mcdaddy was only suggesting that the whisky comments could be of value on the whisky thread so all good here. Dave 2 Quote

msb Posted December 2 Posted December 2 Back in the new dive last night , parking can be a misery in the downtown core , found a spot right in front of the bar. It was a Christmas miracle. Numbers were slightly down , but a good crowd , some wonderful regulars up to play. Good night. Just two bassists to sit in. The new room was sounding really nice. Not too loud , place was grooving. Usual rig , Bergantino 112 , Monique preamp into the effect return of a Bergantino Forte V1. Big orange hollow body Gretsch bass , Dano Longhorn as a backup (not played last night). Black leather Chuck Taylors. ( winter slippers) 12 Quote

But I do have special socks I always wear; they're either orange with zebras or yellow with spaniels. Pants-wise, I tend to go with black cotton trunks that helpfully say "Mr. Big" on the waistband. 1 4 Quote
