BigAlonBass
For that price, I'd expect the E-strings to stay in their slots on the bridge!
Happy Jack
We've seen this one before. The price is simply outrageous and only of limited relevance even to a VERY serious Hofner collector who only needs a 191 to complete his collection. In which case, he'd be after one that was complete (this one isn't), all original (this one isn't), and probably pretty much mint (this one isn't). To put this in context, a genuine 1959 Sutcliffe bass is worth something over £1000, a genuine 1963 Macca bass perhaps £2000. The most valuable single Hofner you could buy would be a left-handed 1962 Macca bass with close-set pickups (the Cavern bass) and that might go as high as £5000. He's looking for £4000 for a novelty bass, deriving purely from rarity.
