Apparently the preamp is based on the same as an Alembic. I wonder how easy it would be to take the power section out? Much cheaper way of buying an Alembic pre thing.

I think that just means its a Fender style tone stack. There are schematics about of both, could probably get one made in a more suitable box point to point for less than that. Trace B-type is same, think the Peavey T-max/max preamp is similar too.
