Potaton
Hi all, I've recently acquired a JCM 800 guitar amp for next to nothing in terms of dosh.I just took it to the rehearsal studios & tested it through a Marshall 4X12 guitar cab...WOW,what a sound.Pure filth (in the best possible way).Exactly the sound i've been looking for...ala Lemmy!!! My 1st question is,is it perfectly ok to play my bass through it without causing any damage as long as i use a bass speaker cab?? My 2nd question is,can anybody recommend a decent & yet reasonably priced 4X10 / 4X12 cab i could use with the amp? Lastly, does anybody here play their bass through a guitar amp?? Thanks for reading!!
obbm
Back in the day, when I were a lad, there were no such things as bass amps, only amps. All the top bands used Marshall stacks so play away and enjoy. As you said just make sure you have appropriate speakers. The only difference is that the EQ controls will be voiced for guitar but that's not really a problem if you like the sound you're getting.
