Hi,
Since we seem to get threads about other instruments fairly frequently, could we have a sub-forum for guitar/bass/sax/drums etc discussion? This thread and this one, amongst others, suggest there may be an appetite given the lack of quality UK based forums for other instruments and the number of multi instrumentalists we have.
Cheers
Kyle

I have never actually found that guy at all funny. At all! God knows why...

Although I would like to second the motion for a smaller area of basschat for other instruments

It's an excellent idea.

We could even rebrand the site to say

Basschat.co.uk The home of deep discussion! And for those who play other instruments, who cannot be bothered to set up their own forum.

Ducks and walks. :)

.....and Hitler

Haha, no we wouldn't. :) I can't think of any reason why I would want to talk about those, or their cousin Stratocrapster

Quite simply, no?

Its a bloody Bass forum! Off topic is fine as its a BASS forum, other instrument talk is indeed off topic.

damn, i guess we ought to delete the "recording" and "for sale: other musically related stuff" forums whilst we're going by that then.

not to mention off topic being fine, but talking about guitars isn't because they're off topic.
+1.. well put, mon ami.

And to those not into Ricky Gervais, at least in his 'Office' character it's hilarious in the same way as Spinal Tap - if you've been there it's both side-splitting and cringeworthy in turns! Most folks I know that don't play in bands are totally nonplussed by Spinal Tap, but there you go. Incidentally my parents just don't get Wallace and Gromit! :)

Good idea I reckon :)

Also, the fact that when people post guitar threads in Off Topic they get moved to Bass Guitars suggests we need some other solution to me :)

Oh, kudos to this man. He's like a steamroller powered by glowing nuclear logic.

With a big steel roller at the front with big steel knives in it. With a deadly poison made from undiluted logic on the tips of those knives. He swerves round the obstacles. He demolishes the objections. And those big, steel, logic-poisoned knives just keep coming closer and closer.

This is the first time I've seen the mods worried. The rank stink of terror pervades these pages. We will have our Hitlercaster sub-sub-forum.

You may depend upon it. Oh, yes.
