HMX Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I'd love to buy a tortoise shell scratch plate to put on my Fender 70s Re-issue Jazz bass, only I don't know the best place to order it from. Any of you guys had any experience buying a scratch plate? I saw one or two around, but for the Fender official plate, it was about £35... I'm sure I can get it cheaper elsewhere? Thanks, Carl Quote
fluffo Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 2 options mate, either WD music, they have a web site they can do what ever you want or TMT music in orpington but they are more custom jobs I would go with WD myself and have bought loads of plates off them in the past. Quote
Clarky Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Yep, WD are very good. Used them loads, just be sure you choose one for the right Fender model (there are different templates for US, Mexican etc I believe). Simplest is to check out their website and then give'em a call just to double-check you are getting the right s/p Quote

dave_bass5 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Sims custom shop did a great job on a scratch plate for my Lakland DJ5. Not cheap though. Very quick service but i had to send them my original one as well so it took a day or so longer. Quote
