hello,

looking at getting a new lead.has any body used/got fenders gold and platinum bass lead if so is it any good??

Yes, I have a couple. They are solid & reliable. There was a thread on them a while back, some said they were over-priced but I'm happy with mine

they are more than other leads but its always quality first.their write up says about hearing more tones than normal leads is there any truth in this or just a bit of hype???

They are good & certainly if you spend a bit on your gear it is foolish to then skimp on a cheap cable. Others on this forum will also rave about other good (expensive) cables like the chod company etc & I think these are definately up a league from your standard ones

Really good quality cable, very sturdy. And it has a circuit break switch on the guitar end so if you use multiple basses there's no need to go and turn off your amp etc. Just press the button swap over and then press it again for instant action

+1 for the platinum - top quality lead & plugs - bit stiffer than most but will no doubt last forever & lifetime warranty Like most things - worth a little extra outlay for decent gear & of course it sounds better as if my ears could tell!

+2 for the Platinum one, although i must admit i got mine for its looks. I hardly ever use it but its my back up lead.

I've a Platinum and it's a complete PITA, always getting tangled and twisted when I use it live. I now only run it from my tuner to my amp, never from the bass. Great quality I'm sure, but usability sucks.
