jamiesonk666 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Hi, my names jamie and I'm new to this. I have 3 basses ,one of which I'm trying to sell on here ( MusicMan Stingray Teal green '88ish) I also have Fender P bass. I did have the original receipt that was dated 1976. I know that this receipt is genuine because the bloke that signed it as sold was one of my old gaffers.I have uploaded some photo's of it. There is no serial number that I can discern. I had a 78 P bass ages ago the serial number began S8------- etc and I knew how to age it .This bass has "PAT 2,573,254 2,968,204 3,143,028 2,976,755" I would appreciate any help with ageing and hopefully valuating it . ta jamie Quote
The Bass Doc Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Hi there. Your Precision has the serial number on the neckplate. Can't read it clearly from the photograph but I'm guessing it's around a 1974 model (with a replacement scratchplate - the original is likely to have been black). Quote
discreet Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 (edited) Could be a 1976 Precision if the serial no. is between 690000 and 750000. Certainly no later than 1976 judging by the headstock. Edited March 7, 2010 by discreet Quote
jamiesonk666 Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 Yes your right It came with black scratch. I have the black scratch and can get hold of the original pickups. Its loaded with Di marzio model p's. Do you have any idea on price??? ta jamie Quote

Bet she won't appreciate it. Quote

Davo-London Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 There's a lot of 70's Ps on the market. A realistic price after commission is £1200 -1300. Davo Quote
