tredders Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Looks quite interesting... Fender have launched an online music collaboration system. http://www.fender.com/promos/2010/ejamming/ Official blurb: - "Fender has announced a partnership with eJamming Inc., highlighted by their breakthrough software technology, eJamming® AUDiiO. eJamming AUDiiO provides patented synchronized streaming live audio over the Internet in real time, enabling musicians and singers anywhere in the world to create, play and record together live and online, while experiencing no discernible latency on their instruments. Now, any musician, for example a guitarist and bassist—acoustic or electric; beginner, student or professional—can collaborate, create and record music with other musicians and singers in a real-time online session over eJamming AUDiiO." RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 interesting....I'll wait for more comments on here ,to see if it's worth doing. Quote
Marvin Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 A very interesting idea. As with Ray might hold fire, but I still think it's a really innovative idea. (someone's now going to say it's already being done somewhere else on the net ). Quote
7string Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I read about that Guitarist magazine (aka the Fender catalogue), looks like a great idea. I'm definitely going to have a look at it. I found the Guitarist piece and it says that E-Jamming's subscription based with a 30 day trial. After the trial it's $9.95 a month, $24.95 quarterly or $89.50 a year. Dood Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 I remember someone telling me that they write and collaborate with their band with a product that exists already - but for the life of me can't remember what it is. As it happens, It's something I have been meaning to look in to it myself for my band - given the 5400miles between me and my drummer!!! IIRC I *think* the person I spoke to said they have played a gig together using the software in 'Second Life' - but that might be me making it up in my mind!! Poor old grey cells they're not what they.... shall I put the kettle on? oooh.. I'll put the kettle on... (tenuous link to Lee Evans sketch) Quote
RussFM Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 I like the idea, and for jamming with random people would be quite good, but for long-distance practising with your band could get pretty expensive!! Quote
