Jarhead
Hey guys, I just got a 6 string bass, and the guy I traded with included a pair of EMG 45Z pickups, wonderful. However, I do not have the slightest clue as to what to do when it comes to installing them. It's an active bass with an active/passive pull switch in the volume pot. Any clues? steve-soar
http://www.emginc.com/content/wiringdiagra...HZ-35-40-45.pdf Here's the wiring diagram. I've wired a few EMGs into basses. What value pots does the bass have?
steve-soar
Do you know what active circuit is installed in the bass? These are passive pickups and can work wired straight to the pots. Pics would be helpful. Steve.
Jarhead
Actually, think I just figured it out. the main problem was that it's a complete mess in the cavity, but I cut the ziplock and shifted some of the wires, and I think I've figured out where to solder the wires now. If I have any trouble, I'll probably cry, then come back on here and ask you lol. Zach
ThomBassmonkey
If it helps mate, here's the wiring diagram for the bass: http://www.rondomusic.com/photos/bass/hxbdiag.jpg I always got put off making the change myself because of the messy wiring and having no previous experience of pickup rewiring (jack sockets is about the limit of my wiring in instruments), I was expecting it to be more of a one out, one in job.
