Hi just bought a whammy pedal off ebay its the whammy 4 version. A plug is supposed to come with it but the seller had lost it. i got it home and tried it with one of my changable volt plugs from currys and it just made it sound like my bass battery is going dead.

I tried the bass with no pedal and it fine.

it says on it 9VAC-50/60HZ 1.3A

If i need a special plug anyi deas where i can get one from?

oris this pedal broken.

thanks very much in advance

Kev is partially right. You need an adaptor that is 9V AC, but it should, for best results, be over 1A or 1000mA in current.

The original WH-1 draws around 750mA, but the re-issue is even more power hungry!

The one supplied with the reissue is 1300mA.

Like Higgie says, the AC bit is important - most power adapters are DC.

Maplins do a suitable adapter, as does a guy on ebay. Give me shout if you can't find him, as I've added him to my favourite sellers list.

I had to get a Maplin replacement for my BP-200 which is also AC but can't remember whether it's 12V or 9V. It was one of these:

which are pretty reasonably priced.
