The same seller previously sold the same bass for £87, plus £17 p&p. Now it's up for £175 or best offer.
Decent pickups, not the ceramic ones found on most sub £400 guitars and basses
Correct me if I'm wrong but is he saying ceramic magnets are inferior?

Possibly because, as in the previous time it was auctioned, nobody wants to pay more than £87 for it?

Think it is the same generalisation as valve vs. solid state etc. where the cheapest examples of one are used vs. the other that usually appears only in midrange and above. You get ceramic pickups that are a magnet hot glued to the back of a coil with steel slugs.

This guy also makes the mistake of thinking the 'worth' of something is related to what you spent on it.

Good spot!

That gives home builders a bad name

It's a badly put-together bitsa - I'd expect a cheap & nasty neck & hardware - including the pups.

Looks to me like the pocket/heel area's been roughly reshaped - I think that fancy grain's probably hiding a multitude of horrors!

£87 was probably about right...

It's back again - will he regret not selling for £87?

My suspicion, for what it is worth, is that he'll get a bite before his dropping price gets down that far. With his new, specially selected, photos that don't show the problems so much, IMHO someone will think it worth a punt well before the price gets down to £100.

How outraged the buyer may feel when they receive their bass is of course another question.
