What does your double bass sound like?

How so? I like the Honeys I use but they are getting dark now after 3 years. Are the Spiro's weichs really bright and twangy or do they mello? Spiros are supposed to be the best for pizz, which all I really do, but I don't want a bright, zinggy tone.

they do mellow out and are about the only string I know that actually improves with playing. However they are a bright string at first. Perhaps give the evahs a try.
I've not tried the honeys so can't compare.
