One thing I thought of, and im just thinking out loud so apologies, but did I see you mentioned you havent tried a Stingray before?

I think you should definitely have a tinker with one...to me they just fit with the classic Leo trio.

I went t see 3 great bands last night, one with a Precision and one with a Stingray. It was apparent that the Precision filled the low end amazingly well and just worked. The Stingray just cut through like crazy almost sounding like the bass was a lead instrument but when he hit the lower notes it filled the room like a bass should.

Good luck with the sale dude
Thanks Gareth, I had one interested BC'er but he had a problem with funds. No other bites at all. Looks like its eBay for this one :-(

Re: Stingray, I don't know what it is but they have never quite 'done it' for me in the looks department - just personal aesthetics I think

Also, just to be clear, I really would rather a sale than a trade/PX, was just throwing some ideas around to see if it prompted interest

Now on eBay :)

Here is the listing http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT

Will happily curtail the listing for a BC'er as long as no bids have come in

:) Didn't sell on evilBay. Being honest and mentioning the crackle on the bridge pickup (http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=83062) probably didn't help, even though its likely a simple shielding fix.

New price: £2,000, plus delivery (I hope you agree a £225 price cut more than compensates for a quick trip to the luthier!)

I deleted photos inthis thread but they are still visible in eBay listing plus I can send them to you if needed http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEUSX:IT Edited by Clarky

Some photos as a reminder, second showing the neat soldering (which makes me think the slight crackle from the bridge pick-up is simply a shielding issue):

As well as a straight sale, I would also consider a trade against a vintage (up to 1974) Precision in Olympic White, with cash adjustment if necessary from me if very old (one day I hope to get a birth-year, 1963, P-bass but I doubt one of these is kicking around!)

Bump. £2000 + delivery + I will ensure the Bass Gallery fix the crackling bridge pickup (ie, I guarantee the bass will be issue-free; hopefully my feedback shows I am a trustworthy person!)
