Tait Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 (edited) i'd be there! Edited March 20, 2010 by Tait Quote
4-string-thing Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 I had been thinking of posting something along the lines of "is there a midlands bass bash?" for a while now. Guess you've just answered my question, so you could count me in! Quote
Geek99 Posted March 20, 2010 Author Posted March 20, 2010 Budget bassist organised the last one - any hints ? Quote

Geek99 Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 I wasn't asking him to do it again (he did do a good job though)- 'any hints?' meant 'any advice on how to deal with the grosvenor, price the door etc'. I don't have lots of freetime (small baby, job with long hours etc look at my posting times), but all the current bashes appear to be miles away london, scotland etc And I thought it was time we had our own. If I did it it would be pretty spit and sawdust - I can make a few calls but that's about it. Quote
Jarhead Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 I'd be up for it. Don't know about venues though. Zach Quote

Dread Bass Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Depending on when. I could make an appearance. Quote
Geek99 Posted March 22, 2010 Author Posted March 22, 2010 @budgetbassist - did you have to pay in advance , or pay a deposit? I seem to recall a mug of coins @all: when can you all do , and what's the max door price you'd consider reasonable ? Quote
budget bassist Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 i think i paid it all in one go once i'd collected the money and i'd say no more than a fiver at the very most Quote
pantherairsoft Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 £5 tops seems fair. If there's enough people, maybe ask Rob @ Magnet studios and hire out a large room or two...? He does snacks etc, has a backline of Ampegs, Mesa and a few others and we get both sealed rooms and the foyer for loud/quiet spaces Just an idea Quote
budget bassist Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 ooh that IS a good idea! not seen how big the rooms at magnet are though, they have some amazing backline though! Quote

Assuming there's no drummers coming for a jam, there's no need for soundproofed rooms anyway, plus I'm sure one or two people wouldn't mind bringing rigs (I wouldn't have any problems taking mine). Quote
budget bassist Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 true, a pub is generally a good place for a bash, a few people usually bring rigs anyway Quote
pantherairsoft Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Agreed. Pub would be good. The Magnet thing was just an idea... :-) Quote
Geek99 Posted March 23, 2010 Author Posted March 23, 2010 So were the grosvenor willing to take booking with no deposit? How many of those showing interest actually attended? Quote
