Wimpy Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 (edited) I get this bass on the end of year 2004 from legendary bassplayer Hubert Eaves IV from ebay. Big inspiration for me to get this bass was Erykah Badu-Baduizm live record. Than I found Hubert was saleing one of his basses on ebay. This one is not bass you can here on Baduizm Live but he told me he was useing this bass a lot (Alex Bugnon records etc.) So you can here the sound on this records too. I found Hubert on Hip Hop and Soul with Jools Holland DVD and it seams he's useing this instrument on this video. So here is chance to get great sounding instrument owned by bass guitar hero. As you can see this instrument is used you can see small stratches but they are not big or ugly. There is bigger mark under B string this one is from Hubert's thumb...the bass is in almost same condition as I get it from him and I can tell it is light instrument...pls. no trades. Price? Let say best offer for now. Why I'm saleing this bass? I don't use it that much so my MTD hangs on the wall (also becouse my family). Comes with new Ken Smith set of string and no original flight case. Ask me for more informations or for more pics...thanks for looking Wimpy for gallery click here: http://mtd535.wz.cz/ Video-Demo on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oH_u8Z15PkQ specifications: * Wenge/Wenge fretboard and neck * Tulip Wood body * Myrtle top * 21 frets * Low Serial: #261 * original custom picups and electronics by Bartolini Hubert Eaves IV maybe with that MTD (not sure) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKtJxjyrxao Me and MTD535 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCB-FI08yQM Edited June 2, 2010 by Wimpy

stonecoldbass Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 No way! That is one of my top 5 albums of all time, and I always wanted to know more about the bassist and bass in question! His playing is immense on the album and I know you say that he used a different bass for the recording but it's still a thrill to see this one listed! Check out my band: :-)

Shame I don't have the requisite dosh. Andy
Wimpy Posted March 26, 2010 Author Posted March 26, 2010 Nice video and great sounding band man!...I was crazy for this album and I think I still I am...I can listen it any time ...yes Hubert is killer-bassplayer! :-) Nice arangmets on Baduizm Live, I can't believe there is just bass, drums and keyboard. If I have the bass from Baduizm live I'll never sale it (for 2500EUR) :-)

Brusen Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Hub also plays the bass in The Roots, right? Haha, stoncecoldbass' band did not do much to make the version they're playing different from the original live version!!!!! But great band, cd and song(s) IMHO.

To replicate those fantastic arrangements as closely as possible and see what can be learnt from doing so. These guys are at the top of the tree and having transcribed all the bass parts I understand why... craig
