Kyron
Heya folks of basschat... I'm a little unsure as to what this thru-neck bass body is (see below photos). I bought it on a bit of a whim a while back to integrate my old Westone Thunder 1A electronics and hardware, but never got around to it The woodwork looks good, but I'm an electronics apprentice, so I don't know much about that!! . After realising that my band really required a low B-string, I decided to buy a 5-string spector to get me by (which may also be up for sale soon). so, what I'm really asking is: - What is it made of? - What is it worth? - Does anyone want it!? Cheers Guys
Ancient Mariner
Construction looks very Westone/El maya/general Matsomoku style. Neck is a maple/Mahogany sandwich with what looks like pine (just possibly ash) wings. Westones seem to typically go for £150ish, but that has no hardware or electronics, so I'd have though quite a bit less. I'd love to own it, but don't have any money really, right now. *edit* I'm obviously a million miles away. paul h
Eko unless I am mistaken. I had one of these many years ago which I bought from Brandoni. I was never 100% sure of the manufacturer but I am sure someone will be here soon to help!
BassBod
Brandoni/eko. I think they're called "camak" or something similar
Kyron
Yeah... Maybe I should've mentioned the "Brandoni Custom" Logo at the top of the bass duh! Cheers Guys- Appreciate your input

Bassassin
No idea of value but I might interested if the price is going to be sensible - always loved these & fancy a bit of Italian for the collection! Here's the Eko P/J variant: http://www.fetishguitars.com/html/eko/finalyears/bx7.html Jon. It's just that it's very hard to determine the value of it... Most EKO basses are Violin models and go from 250 all the way up to 700, maybe even more, heh, I dunno!? but then again, mine is just the body make me an offer I can't refuse! and we'll see
benebass
I reckon yours is a BX7 that was never routed for a Jazz pickup near the bridge - they did come with a maple board: - http://www.fetishguitars.com/html/eko/catalogues/83/17.html Brandoni have assembled BX7 basses listed on their site for £325, but no pics unfortunately to check they are the same as yours: - http://www.brandoniguitars.co.uk/complete.asp Cheers, B. Kyron - if you have some idea of what you'd like for it, let me know! I'm supposed top be putting a bit aside for a new rig at the moment so unfortunately I'm not too flush, which means if I were to go for it, it would have to be impulse-buy cheap! Based on the fact you bought it originally, I'm guessing you have a specific minimum amount in mind... From what I've read about Brandoni they bought up all of Eko's stock when the company folded in the 80s, so this will doubtless be part of the factory's original output. Clearly it's been built up as a complete bass at some point, but it's hard to tell what kind of condition it's in & what play wear there is. Looks like a few knocks & bumps on it but that might just be flash glare/reflections. Hard to say. J.

I remember seeing these at Brandoni many years ago! I was gonna buy one. They didn't give the bass manufacturer - but it defintely had a name, beginning with C - but I can't remember what it was!
