lojo
ive got my eyes on a us standard jazz, late 90's i think, maybe early 00's. My question is what colors did the us standards come in. The bass I am looking at is some kind of blue, probably lake placid blue. Did they do them in this color around this time? Also is there anyway to ensure that the body is american? I dont want to end up paying for a US Standard when infact the body is mexican and its just got a US neck... Cheers.
I have no idea what colours where offered on USA models during the early 00s but I brought a 2009 MIM P in lake placid blue and I know the colour was not on the MIA ones last year at least Having said that though, depending on the cost of the 2nd hand bass over its playability and hardware etc, it may not matter that its a bit of a frankenstein as long as you like it, how much is it up for? Cat Burrito
Is there any way to check a body to see if its MIM or MIA? The neck screw plate cover is different isnt it? Is the mexican just a F sign?
It's very easy to switch a neckplate though. The MIM is usually blank & the F tends to be on Reissue models I've emailed Ampeg support before & they always reply - don't know what Fender are like for support but give it a go.
