warwickhunt
I've decided to finish my 'W' (below) with an amber/burst/orange finish. Does anyone have any particularly tasty examples that I can take to the guy who is finishing it? I've printed off the fine example on the Spector site but google isn't giving me much joy! ped
That should look nice on that bass - you don't see too many orange-ish basses these days! Here is mine, if it is of any use: In different lights it goes from bright yellow to amber to bright orange!
Old Horse Murphy
Here's mine- it's Bright metallic Amber
warwickhunt
This is the kind of thing I need. I'm thinking slightly orangier than Ped's but not as dark as OHM and see-thru too.

warwickhunt
That's starting to look just the job! Cheers Ped.
Bassassin
Nah. This is the sort of thing you want! My tasteful & understated Ibanez EDA900: And something I recently picked up at a car boot, for a fiver: Jon. ped
No worries ;0) Who is doing the finishing job on your bass?
ped
Actually, have you seen this thread?? http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=375055
warwickhunt
Now if I mix your two together Jon, I'd have the Kawasaki z1000 orange sparkle that I quite like... but in transparent. The bass will be getting finished by Dave Wilson at Haltwhistle (ex Overwater but should be noted for his own work really). We just have to finalise a few details! TPJ
I just googled "transparent orange guitar" and there are quite a few nice examples there. Click the Images search button. Cheers, Edited November 9, 2007 by TPJ

I may as well order a CS and after looking at the price list breakdown I'd need a 2nd mortgage for that

That tobacco isn't too brown on the edges (at least in that pic) the centre section (and Homies Sterling) certainly gives the amber, orange effect that I'm after. I'm hoping that the guy doing the work has a PC at his workshop so that I can access these references.
