eubassix Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 (edited) Celinder Custom 6 :- Mahogany Body Koa Top w/matching Headstock veneer, rear and trussrod covers. Maple + Purpleheart Neck with Ebony Board 36" scale (but very comfortable - also contributes to the crisp, clean tone and well-defined 'B'. Tone is described as a previous owner as 'somewhere between and Smith and an Alembic' .. which can't be bad) Nut: 2.125"; f24: 3.25" String-spacings: 9mm (nut); 16.5mm (f24); 19mm (bridge). Weighs 11lbs. Glockenklang 3 band preamp (The original Greengrove preamp was, apparently, damaged and replaced with Aguilar, then later by the current GlockenKlang). The G-Klang Circuit diagram is included: it's one aspect of the bass which, IMHO, could be improved. There is Vol., Pan, Mid(s) and stacked Bass/Treble .. But the circuit doesn't work as clearly as I would have expected [been playing it with Bass on max, a little treble and about 55% Mids - the mid section is very powerful. Finding that with the SC's switched-in the volume is quieter in the centre position, like the old SC circuits; with HB's switched-in, the volume is quietest in the centre and gradually boosts when a single pickup is selected] Celinder (Kent Armstrong) radiused dual coil pickups (coil tap with small Fodera coil tap switch) Black hardware - original Bridge Near mint (a small nick at the headstock and upper horn) / all original other than the EQ and Bridge. Excellent build quality (as always), exceptional playability and a pretty rare find - there don't seem to be many Celinder 6's about . This is not the 'Aura' model; it is a Custom 6. TKL hardcase. This came to me via a recent (International) trade and, as I'm not much of a 6-string player and don't have the time to dedicate in progressing with this bass, is now offered for sale. I do have more photos (PM with email if required). There are a few additional comments here (in the PORN section):- http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=81023 Edited August 2, 2010 by eubassix

pantherairsoft Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 ... Like me! Again... Dammit. Wonder if we can postpone the wedding to free up some pennies :-)
molan Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Just a quick vote of confidence on Celinder build quality - absolutely top notch!
Brusen Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Arh, again my old bass for sale All I can say is: HUGE bass and HUGE tone. I was the 2. owner of this bass. You're right, not many 6 string Celinders around. Chris told his most popular model is the J update 5. /R.

lozbass Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Giveaway - Celinders are among the best of the best - thoroughly recommended (but this one is far too big for me)
pantherairsoft Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 It's still here!??? Seeing this just upsets me. Soooo awesome! Call it £1000 an I'll take it now
SpinalTap Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Great price! Don't forget that there are only a few hundred Celinders made. Very rare, especially if you compare these numbers with orther boutique builders.
lozbass Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 In my opinion, the best £1600 any ERB player could spend anywhere in the world just now.
