henry norton
I never much liked Rob Allen's basses before now - especially the single cuts (I can actually hear your shouts of derision from my comfy office chair in rural France), but I like this one rather allot. Much nicer looking Rob Allen Bass called the Solid4 Maybe it's the simplicity that appeals to the Precision player in me. Perhaps the attention to detail like the lozenge shaped P90-ish pickup or the rather cool string mounts gives me levels to strive for as a builder of specials. Or maybe - probably - it's because it looks like a simple, high quality bass that's not another blummin' Fender clone. It's even more expensive than one of his amoeba-like single cuts, let alone a US built Fender, but I just might have to flog my car.... Lfalex v1.1
Nice. But FAR too expensive, especially when you consider what else is out there for $3750 (or $4100 with a Brazilian R/W fretboard) That'd get you a Smith, a "cheap" Fodera, or an entire shop-full of second-hand goodness! henry norton
Yeah I guess that's allot of dosh - presumably because everything from the bridge to the pickups and the ultra cool string anchor plate is custom made for this bass. I'm sure it could do without most of them but there again, if it had a Seymour Duncan P pickup and Hipshot hardware I probably wouldn't want one. geoffbassist
I would go for the acoustic 5 strings though :-)
Low End Bee
I quite like it apart from the headstock which looks very budget bass. Edited March 24, 2010 by Low End Bee
Jean-Luc Pickguard
I'd love to have a Rob Allen mouse 30. The headstock does look a bit like a foot though.
chris_b
I like the look of Rob Allen basses but more importantly they sound immense!! The only bass that I have GAS for, the Rob Allen Deep 5 http://www.esnips.com/doc/26362c2b-0cae-41...87-5419f2a6496e .... and the Mouse
MoonBassAlpha
The tuners look out of proportion to the head to me. Like Wayne Rooney's ears.
