mr.sibs Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 New release from Caribou, this track 'Odessa' is great in many ways, one definately being the bass line. How to mimic that late attack, chunky bounce? Listen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq_tDOFU5tY I have been mulling over some synth pedals with this sort of warm character for a while, hoping to get a markbass supersynth soon. Any other ideas how this could be replicated? Quote
thisnameistaken Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Boss OC-2 + a low-pass envelope filter (or maybe a Bassballs actually). A Bass Micro Synth might get you somewhere near (the filter controls would be good to have) but the OC-2 will give you that square-wavey tone to begin with. Quote

I used to have a microsynth, loved it but shame you have to fiddle with sliders between tunes. Unless I had 6 microsynths? and a trolley to carry them in. will look at the oc-2 as well Quote
thisnameistaken Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Yeah the OC-2 just sounds lush and they're so cheap, well worth keeping one handy. I've often thought about having two Micro Synths - just snapping all the sliders off one, sticking it on my favourite setting and gluing it to the bottom of another Micro Synth to save space. Quote
