[/quote] I'm not sure it was sanded. Looks like it was taken down with a blunt cheese grater. I have no comprehension of why it would be worth that much. This is VERY overpriced but the seller knows his market, and he'll no doubt eventually sell it at close to what he's asking now. I’m no lexicographer, or mathematician for that matter, but most 'must' have a completely different definition in American English than it does in the Oxford English. And oddly enough the Jazz bass that was constantly relisted by someone trying to expose him as a supposed fraud was CAR as well. Perhaps he only had a little left over. There are Knurled Switch Nut collectors all over North America, plus quite a few in Europe (particularly Norway and Finland) and a scattering more across Mozambique and The Maldives. Most of them will never get a chance to own a genuine 1962 Gibson Knurled Switch Nut and you can't criticise this public-spirited vendor for giving one of them that wonderful opportunity.
