I think it's an older model reduced because it will have been in stock for longer. I think they stopped having the switch about a year or so back.

Yep it will be an early/pre '08 model before they brought out the updated version without the S1 switching. Being a chain store they will have a policy of adding a percentage to their purchase price. Andertons have a couple of the early '08 ltd edition telecasters (with the painted headstock) at over 100 pounds cheaper than the newer ones that they had recently got in - same thing.
