These instruments were the highlight of my MusikMesse.

They are a Japanese company who now operate the FujiGen facility (if that name isn't familiar you might recognise the name Fender Japan!)

Fender Japan moved over to the Tokai factory a while back and these guys have maintained a lot of the machinery and individuals who were involved in Fender Japan.

No pics im afraid was far too busy, but first time you see one in UK PLAY IT!

Very odd website I am afraid, will take you a while to find the familiar shapes!

Wow, these look really good and I even quite like their own design basses as well. I shall definately keep an eye out for these, any idea on price?

Interesting how they have decided to put the factory name out there as a brand.

For some reason the traditional bass shapes are hidden away. Here's a link to their Jazz 5. Looks very nice!

The FGN Les Paul guitars are sold for quite a high price. The start at 1000 euros and go up. I've seen £549 as a price for a FGN strat. (googles). Ah, 749 euros for a P-bass. Considering the MIM Standards are cheaper than that and a US Std. not much more (in the UK), they're going to have a hard time pushing them at that price, no matter how good they are. Would you say they were as good as a US Standard throwoff?

Agreed. Plus, although the guitars themselves look great, the FGN logo looks very, very cheap.

Poorly designed comic fonts should not be used on high end gear. :)

I would but then I have a massive soft spot for Japanese and Korean built instruments.

Hopefully come into UK soon and people can get playing them.

A collegue of mine who runs stuff in China for us knows the guys through a friend in another factory and he got quite a bit of advance info and said they are really incredibly built!

I saw Zebra Head the other night. Their bass player had one of these that looked pretty sweet. Traditional jazz shape/config in metallic red (brighter than CAR) with a matching head stock. His had a high mass g&lish looking bridge with black hardware. It looked and sounded awesome. Plenty of 70s jazz growl and bite.

A friend of mine has a couple of Fujigen guitars, a strat and a Les Paul, very decent they are too. Not mindblowing, but a good standard of build and good parts, got them both for around €500 each 2nd hand off Ishibashi.
