pegman1
...what was expected of you and was it worth your while?
skankdelvar
In my youth I did 'Evita' in London's glamorous West End. Every night (and twice on Saturdays) I had to run on and shout "Viva El Presidente!" I'll get my coat.
Merton
I'll try to get Phil Mulford on here to answer that, it pretty much pays his mortgage I think!
molan
I believe we currently have the Lion King's resident bass player here on the forum too. . .
62P-Bass
Go and sit in with the regular player at least twice while they do it. Take a copy of the pad and recording of the bassist's headphone mix. Practice it loads. Go in and try to play like the regular person. That's it! It can be quite a lot of work to get it together in the first place, but once you're up and running it's a very straightforward and civilised way to do a gig and earn some money. Also, the standard of musicians in West End pits is very high so although the material may not always be your preferred choice, it can be a very musically rewarding experience.
