TenLetters
Evening all, Anyone ever used Phosphor Bronze strings on regular electric bass as opposed to acoustic? Im stuck for a depping gig tomorrow night (String order didnt come through) set I have lying around that are not dead as a door nail are Phosphor Bronze. I dont see any issues with it at all and will probably do it but im just wondering if anyone has done it and noticed anything wierd/good? Cheers
RhysP
As bronze is a non-ferrous metal I'm wondering if the magnets in the pickups will work properly with them. Just a thought.
TenLetters
I had not even considered that. Looks like it could be a bit of meths on my old set!

RhysP
Good point. The cores are probably ferrous. Might sound a bit weedy on a bass though.

TenLetters
I will give it a go and see what happens. The strings wont get used any how as said acoustic bass has long gone.
