Charles Obscure Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 From the cultural melting pot that is Wisconsin, U.S.A.! Home of delicious cheese, micro-brew beer and far too many Blues bands. I'm a recent guitar to bass convert. I've been playing guitar for close to 30 years, and a little over a year ago I started focusing more on playing bass. I must say, I'm enjoying the challenge and I'm hoping to learn more about music and theory by "starting over" with a new instrument and an open mind. Which is what brings me here, trying to soak up as much knowledge from those more experienced than myself. Being prone to fits of G.A.S. on occasion, most likely from the guitar playing obsession, I've acquired a few different electric basses along the way trying to find the right one for my style and expectations. At this point, I've settled on a Fender MIM Precision strung with flatwounds which is all that and more. Does it end here? Possibly not, but this ought to do for a while. And now, the required picture: Quote

grumble Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Why does the title ('Warmest Greetings') make me feel like I'm about to be offered 5 MILLION US DOLLARS by one of the Lads from Lagos ?? Joking aside, welcome to the dark side and BC. Quote
Florida_RRoe7_A Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 I'm in South Fla. ... getting back to the bass after many many years of doing nothing, no gear either. Now, I have too much to list . I am taking guitar lessons road. I think from the bottom up and also taking drums at that . As far as doing gigs, hopefully I'll get something on bass but thats some months away, maybe longer......I'm learning new song lists...........................................I miss one thing and that's playing super loud on bass. I can't wait to turn it up................................ Quote
Telebass Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Welcome! Not much better than a nice Precision! I am a bit biased, though... Quote

However, there are plenty of Nike shoes, Rolex watches, Vicodin and Cialis, all available without a prescription because I know how to party! Thanks for the welcomes, everyone. Quote
