I love me some gospel bass like, I'll check those out when I get home! (at work now)

the reason I just came actually was to ask if anyone knows who played on the Ladysmith Black Mambazo track 'River of Dreams'? Loving the stone on there.

Great video! And I love that he's doing it on a low end cheap bass.

+1 on the cheap bass. It appears that it IS all in the fingers.

When I grow up I want to be able to play like that.

Whilst on the subject of Abe Laboriel, I saw him (unexpectedly) on a youtube vid yesterday, this one, a scoring session for 'The Incredibles', at 2.54, his usual vivacious self, no coverage of him playing unfortunately, I guess he must be on a load of film soundtracks - anyone know any others he's on? I must check out this film & listen out for him!

I have to say that religion is re-heally not my thing, but that's besides the point here -- I love the music, I love the atmosphere and I'd love to play in a band like that! It looks how being a musician should be!

Fantastic stuff, love it!

Just looked at his biog - basically he has done virtually every film session going in LA! :) As you were...

Yep, b5 - I've been a big fan of mr 'knightmayorz', from the youtube clip on your first post. Absolutely effortless playing, never a note out of place. Don't know how he does it.

Put it this way, if the middle-class catholics I know sang about how they loved God and their fellow man this much, I may have believed them as a child!

I think it a fantastic place to play, though, and must breed A LOT of young talent!

Tone is cheap

It's also especially nice to see a gospel player not using an overly ornate super expensive luxury item. Seems a bit more consistent with the gospel to me :)

Sharay Reed all the way although Thaddeus Tribbett is pretty frightening on many instruments.

I think this is Sharay's YouTube channel
