i'm in two bands right now, but the main one is MyOwnFlag - we've been playing since 2002.

It's a 3-piece, I guess you'd call us post-hardcore/post-rock, i've never been good at genres!

influences are pretty wide ranging, from the obvious like QOTSA, at the drive-in, fugazi & deftones, through to the more post-rock side of things with dianogah, shellac, slint, and shipping news.

Great for me, as the music is pretty bass-driven, so lots of space to fill! There's a couple fo tunes on the olbligatory myspace, and the new album ('Divello') is on spotify so you can listen free!

We play a fair few standards but also play stuff that you don't see bands usually play in this genre. Have a listen to the demo's we've just uploaded as we recorded everything live rather than going for a false sounding studio recording.... I'm really pleased with the results.

I hadn't listened to the Alter Boys material before Craig, it's got to be the most diverse stuff I've ever listened to. Might see if I can grab a copy.

Hi, I play in a band called Stealer.

STEALER are a Five piece band from East Anglia whose aim is to capture the sound and feel of the great Rock/Blues band FREE. Along with bands such as Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Cream, FREE were one of the most influential bands to come out of the 1960's, playing their mixture of rock and blues styles, they were at the forefront of the British Blues boom in the mid to late sixties.
STEALER recreate the sound and vibe of that pioneering decade with visual effects and an authentic sound, as well as a look that harks back to the Woodstock era.

This is Jabner, Edwise, Chucksten, Old Mama Whelper and down in front is Biscuits.

They're all members of my country band. We've cultivated the authentic Appalacian look as you can see and the band is called The Two Tootin' Toonzers. Yep, I know there's more than two of them, but folks around here got so excited about someone coming up with four words all beginning with the same letter than the name more or less stuck. We aren't going to set the world on fire in terms of technique but Jabner and Old Mama learned how to play washboard and spoons when they were young and still brother and sister. Edwise plays the kettle and Biscuits fitted him with a special mouth piece so he can blow into it through his belly button if he can't spit his baccy out in time. We do mostly township festivals, christenings and church fund raisers but Jabner reckons there might be some money at the lawnmower races.

I am so glad you like The Alter Boys music! I wrote quite a bit of it on bass so I got away with playing some fun stuff. There are some funny parts on that record too, Ryan Dunn from Jackass does a few skits, as well as The Naked Trucker & Gerald "T-Bones" Tibbons(David Koechner) from The Saturday Night Live show.

My band, Kismetik, is an old school 70s type punk band. We are not in any way 'oi' or hardcore, instead we try to be melodic (as well as fast and noisy!) and we have a couple of songs that veer towards psychobilly. We are influenced by The Damned, Clash, Motorhead and ... err Ennio Morricone! Our most popular (and in my view best) song is 'Drunk at the Wake', a Morricone-inspired punk hoedown with twangy guitars and whistling (yes, whistling).

You can take a listen on the Myspace link on my sig. I would recommend, for a quick listen, Drunk at the Wake, Incinerator and (for fast punk) Blackmail. Our stuff is available on a self-financed album 'Blackmail and other life skills' which is on iTunes, Amazon etc.

By the way we are a trio (guitar/lead vocals; me/bass; drums/backing vocals)

My band's called Liberation Works, we're a 'Country, Blues, Rock n Roll' band apparently. We just had our EP launch on Friday night which went really well, nice big crowd, got them all dancing and even got an encore, great gig!

I'm the bass player and lead vocalist with the Steely-eyed Missile Men. We are all from mid-Cornwall, and we're a three-piece playing blues/blues-rock and R'n'B. We've mostly been a covers band for the last two years, but lately we've been concentrating more on our own stuff, most of which seems to be more rock than blues, for some reason. The three tracks here were recorded live early last year, all are original tracks-we've since been to the famous Sawmills Studio at Golant to record three tracks, which we plan to put on CD for sale at gigs.
Been a bit quiet lately due to work/rota problems (all three of us are emergency ambulance staff), but we're back on track with a support gig for Blue on Black (well-established Cornish blues band-have supported the likes of Deep Purple and Walter Trout) on the 17th. On May 2nd we're on the bill with nine other bands at the Bridge on Wool in Wadebridge for a benefit gig in aid of Leukaemia-going to be a cracking night.

We're a mix of loads of genres, we started out (many moons before I joined) as a folk rock band based around an acoustic guitar, a female and make vocalists with a bit of distortion sprinkled on for good measure. Nowadays we're down to just the male vocalist and we've responded to criticism about people being unable to box us (which is annoying, but ultimately we need to be able to market ourselves as a product instead of a jumble of loads of bits) and have turned more to the rocky side of things.
