Hysteria by Muse, Aeroplane and Coffee Shop by the Chili Peppers, Peg by Steely Dan, I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down by Paul Young, Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel, mostly anything by Jamiroquai with Stu Zender on it...

Recent favourite, this one - Kasabian "Fire". Fun with an awesome grove you can really lock into. Plenty of space for doing your own thing with it too.

Most of the songs I love to play are my own ones. I don't mean that in a big headed way at all. If I spend lots of time writing a challenging bassline, I can generally play it better than I could another person's "challenging" bassline. Just feels good to play something that you've written, I guess.

Songs that I'm currently enjoying playing in gigs include.....

Luther Vandross 'Never Too Much'
Stevie Wonder 'I Wish'
Duran Duran 'Rio'
Charlie Parker 'Scrapple from the Apple'
Miles Davis 'So What'

There are actually very few songs that I don't enjoy playing on gigs.
My favourite things to play when I'm at home are usually tunes by people
like Marcus,Stanley,Janek,Cobham etc....Although lately I'm really enjoying
playing all the old Primus stuff again.

I now officially hate you because of my jealousy of anyone who can play primus.

Damn you!

'Tommy the Cat' is great fun to play-especially the 'Rhinoplasty' version
with 'The Awakening' in the middle.
I really like playing 'My Name is Mud' and 'Jerry was a Race Car Driver' too.
