Ectoplasm Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 This is my Ken Smith BT Custom VI that I bought from The Bass Centre in Wapping in 1994. A year later I bought a copy of The Bass Book and got a nice surprise when I saw a photo of it inside. I've spent thousands of hours playing it over the past 25 years and have enjoyed every minute. It's an amazing bass. 7 Quote

ped Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 I haven't added my '84 BT4 here yet so here we go! Serial number 151 4 Quote

Yes possibly, I had a 1991 BT5 before this one but I can't remember the serial... @Mastodon2 has it now Quote

The Smith sound is like nothing else and I expect that six string would sound very much like the particular 5 string we're both familiar with. I'm getting back into playing after a thumb injury, caused by opening a bottle of rum of all things and that sweet, sweet naturally compressed Smith sound and perfect playability is just sublime. Over the past few weeks I've not been able to play for more than a few minutes for fear I was regressing my healing progress, so I've been noodling on my Warwick Thumb here and there. The Smith in comparison has such sweet and smooth sound. 2 Quote
