They're showing Peter Hook in the movie "Control" playing a real Rickenbacker.

Didn't he play a Hondo Rickenbacker copy?

but I can tell you that the production company asked me (via a music shop)if they could hire my status2000 for a shoot,and having seen the film,still dont know why!!or what they wanted it for......oh....
they also wanted it for "24 hour party people" god knows????

I was always under the impression that it was a copy.

He definitely played a Hondo copy of a Rick in Joy Division days and I'm not aware Hooky ever played a real Rick. He moved on to Yamaha BB's after the Hondo, IIRC, and now plays Eccleshall and Yamaha basses
