niceguyhomer
My band played at the Whitworth Folk Festival in Matlock at the weekend. On the Saturday night, there was a band called The Shee - a bunch of mostly Scottish girls playing celtic and diddly diddly type stuff using mandolin / violin / accordion and harp etc. They were spectacularly brilliant at what they do but what really struck me was the harp player who was playing all the low end stuff and bloody hell, what a fantastic sound she made. Twas clear as a bell, warm and punchy, I realise it wouldn't do for a metal band but it sounded fantastic. Just thought I'd share that witcha. shinhoman
maybe rotosound need to make some harp design strings rather than piano?
steviedee
The wee guy that plays the button box in my roots band is a harp player as well as a box player. He brought his harp along to a rehearsal one night and played a tune. We almost all got our coats and left as we just felt a bit superfluous it was awesome, sounded like Pat Metheny or something.
