You really are better off taking a few lessons with a double bass teacher. It is vital that someone sees you play and shows you what to do in person. Even just two lessons would be infinitely better than a DVD!

I'm not aware of any EUB-specific tutorials, but I have the 2 volumes of Todd Phillips DVDs 'essential techniques for acoustic bass' which are good double bass starter lessons. Obviously he's not going to jump out of the screen and correct any bad habits of posture etc so its not the same as a 1 to 1 lesson, but the two DVDs cover a lot of the essentials for a beginner.
