Mr. Foxen Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 (edited) Great unit with many useful sounds, but I am not taking advantage of the MIDI switching capabilities, so it is a bit overkill for my purposes. Pretty much an industry standard piece of studio kit, rack-mountable, can be used as a preamp for guitar, bass or other instruments, sounds good clean, but the drive settings are what it is all about. All analogue signal path to keep your tone pure, but also MIDI switchable so you can program patches and switch them on the fly for live use. This one is boxed with manual. It is a 110v one and includes a step down transformer and appropriate lead. Mr. Foxen Posted April 17, 2010 Author Posted April 17, 2010 Bump, unemployed now, and missed what I was after, so will entertain near offers.
littleal Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I used to use one of these coupled up with a korg a3 when i played guitar (what a sound) i could get a pretty convincing john petrucci sound, i can't recomended these highly enough they are superb
Mr. Foxen Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 They ahve bass settings too though, not just for guitar. Intended for use with other instruments also.
Mr. Foxen Posted June 27, 2010 Author Posted June 27, 2010 (edited) I also have a Mesa Strategy power amp that might go with this, flightcased, £1k total, that would be a beasty rig. Just have an excessive number of other valve amps. Edited July 29, 2010 by Mr. Foxen
Shaggy Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Bump for a snazzy bit of kit, and Oli's a top guy to deal with
Mr. Foxen Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 People discussing rackmount pre/power rigs bump.
Mr. Foxen Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 Would this be better in amps or effects? It is a preamp, so kinda fits.
rmshaw37 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 this still up for going? any trades in mind? can't believe how long ago it was origionally posted!
Mr. Foxen Posted October 17, 2010 Author Posted October 17, 2010 Trades with cash would be nice, not after anything in particular at the moment, but let me know what you have. Gonna have to sling it on ebay fairly soon I think. Not been massively rushing to sell it because it has lots of useful potential.
rmshaw37 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 just noticed that its the 110v version - how does the transformer come? is it a big box version or fixed to the kettle lead??
Mr. Foxen Posted October 17, 2010 Author Posted October 17, 2010 Transformer is with it, is one of those box that goes between the socket and the plug jobs, this doesn't need much current as is only a preamp. The appropriate lead is included.
