just stumbled across this place, anybody got any good advice about what gauge strings to put on my five string t-bird,I'm using the tuning A,D,A,D,G and the two lower strings are way too sloppy with the strings that it came with.

I chatted to a guy from the bass centre in London today and he said that to do the drop tuning/tension on my E and B strings (now D and A) i'll need to step my guages up to a minimum of 110 and 135 to get the feel to a standard which most people would find acceptable,i will be shopping for some asap and i will put it on here how i get on for other peoples reference....if it isnt allready here somewhere.

I was a tad aprehensive myself to be honest but the BTRL music demanded some super low notes so i had to oblige.

Not so bad now i'm used to the extra one.

sorry,BTRL stands for Beat the red light,its one of the bands i'm in.

bit of a pain in the arse to type out in full hence the initials.
