rockinbassgirl
Hi everyone, I have an Ampeg SVT head; original blue line made in Linden, New Jersey around 1970. I've decided to put it up for sale and would appreciate advice on a price point. I've searched the internet, called vintage gear suppliers, even called Ampeg and can't seem to get an idea of what this rare original would be worth. It's in excellent condition with only a few small skin tears - what I call 'touring scars" but works like a charm. It sounds amazing. Any idea what I should sell it for? Thanks, Rockinbassgirl Edited April 17, 2010 by rockinbassgirl
Eight
Probably best to post your question in the amps forum. Welcome to BassChat.

Florida_RRoe7_A
I suppose the others are correct as to where to post your thread but i went on to craigs list and found this ad for a similar amps head. I have the new Ampeg SVT heads as well as (2) 810E cabs and at this time I am waiting for a Heritage SVT CL to arrive. The old amps are very interesting to me but not my cup of tea. I ordered new stuff and sent them back , thank god I could. In US when you spend $2200 FOR A NEW SVt2pro it doesn't play right out of the box and also a VR that was also new and the fan was too loud (like a power tool) I know to be careful. Here is the CL link.......http://tucson.craigslist.org/msg/1687306582.html
alanbass1
Welcome to the forum. Such a great piece of kit but the weight of SVT's have really reduced their appeal due to the plethora of really good lightweight amps now available
Telebass
Welcome! Indeed, an SVT head weighs considerably more than my entire 500 watt mini-stack...
