absolutpepper
I highly doubt he'll get even half of the starting price. From the pics it looks a bit scratched up, there's something strange going on with what look like rivvets on the scratch plate near the selector switch, the pickups look unlikely to be original (or at least have been re-covered), also clean your fretboard dude...no one wants 35years of finger grime for 2k . Also no pics of the case or NOS spare pickup, seems like seller is on to a loser as you wouldnt even expect to pay 1k for a mint example. neepheid
The things you point out are more than likely switches to allow individual pickup switching (original setup was a 3 way with bridge+middle, all three, neck+bridge). The pickups changed from being made in clear covers to black around the turn of the decade.
Al Heeley
good grief - £2k buy it now! If it is a yr 2000 then thats not exactly a '70's Classic' in my book. Maybe he swapped out the pickups, It had better be a damned good and rare bass for that sort of money. Where's EvilLordJuju when you need him? Jon.
neepheid
Yes, I meant the turn of 70s/80s, sorry should have been specific there. They are the same pickups, just made in opaque black instead of clear. For the record I think the clear ones look way cooler. Like on my '78 G-3 I agree it's not worth what he wants for it (it's been mucked about with (switches) and needs a good clean), I was just trying to clear up some misconceptions about the pickups.
