Unsatisfactory ebay transaction warning

Recommended Posts

This is not exactly a scam as I got a full refund, but I thought you should all be wary of the following bass/seller:

Yamaha BB614 Electric Bass Guitar Natural
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=220585596566
eBay item number: 220585596566
seller: chrisisnever (0)

He mentioned a missing knob, but described it as "excellent condition".

When it arrived, the blend pot was loose (as in rumbling around loose) and when I went to tighten it (hoping and praying that it was the only issue) I found this:

A plug in test reveals no output from the neck pickup. I have a good idea where the wire should go, and if that had been the only problem, I'd have fixed it and not another word said. Then as I inspected the body I found this:

Noting a scuffed area on the zip on the bottom of the gigbag it came in, I hypothesise that it had been dropped onto a hard surface while in the bag, causing an indentation from the zip and subsequent lacquer cracking.

Excellent condition? I think not. Anyway, he held up his hands (almost) immediately. I've been refunded and it's going back today but I thought you all should be aware in case he lists it again without modifying his description.
