Low End Bee
The no. 1 Precision needs a set up. Action is too high for me. I've gradually been tweaking the truss rod and saddles but it's not as it should be. I can do a very rudimentary set up. But not like somebody who knows what they're doing. I'm thinking the change to DR strings from Rotosounds is a contributing factor. I'm sure they are a lower tension. I have a love/hate relationship with my local place. You'd have thought I wanted to relieve myself in their mums handbag when I enquired about booking it in too. Very offhand customer service. Plus £60 for a set up ex strings and another £30 'queue jump' charge to get it back in a week doesn't shout value to me. Anyone got any suggestions near Brentford/Chiswick way? Clarky
Dave Mason in Putney (works in the shop above Ritz Music) is pretty cheap and OK at setup http://www.ritzmusic.co.uk/guitar_workshop.php Not on your doorstep but not too far away

Low End Bee
Thanks you two. These two are on my list now. A couple of hours, lots of hex keys and much swearing has resulted in a very acceptable setting of the action. I do hate doing it though. I need red wine now. lozbass
I tend to get over to the Gallery for anything serious - I know it's not West but I think it's worth travelling down from Manchester (such are the results). It's probably less than the two hours round trip for you (and you can drink the wine on the tube - I carry mine in a Lucozade bottle)
