"Tug bar" users ?

Been trying the tug bar out on my Classic Vibe. Im not a finger style player. All my faves are pickmen so thats the route i went. On the few ocassions i do try finger stle it feelsd all wrong and just sounds bad, not to mention i get all my fingers mixed up trying to play two fingered and the rhythm goes all to knackery. So i end up hooking it like JJ, but it often just gives me the thunk sound. So i tried the tug bar and played with my thumb and straight away get a much better sound and the rhythm is much easier. Anyone use the tug bar (i mean on the bottom, not swapped to the top)

I have one on my P just for the vintage vibe... I think they only work over the E string as a thumbrest, although a friend of mine has just started to use his as a tugbar and really gets on with it... horses for courses I suppose.

I use ye old floating thumb so I'm not bothered.

Occasionaly use mine as Leo envisioned, but not often. It has once or twice enlightened folk as to why it's there!

Yeah, I use it every now and then on my Bacchus P for some fat thumb work. It's not a playing style I'd use all the time, not at all, but for certain occasions it's just right.
