Love the tone, tiny bit of neck dive, nice neck profile, great playability. Not sure what's up with the headstock but the paint (?) seems to have faded a little. Edited April 24, 2010 by thedonutman

I had one of these for a week on trial about 10 years ago. loved the really tight compressed tone off it,would have traded my SS1 I had at the time against it but alas the deal didnt go through. always had a hankering for one ever since.

Very nice, is this what you replaced the black one with then? And yeah, the earlier ones (such as this) had ebony headstock facings

What is the fingerboard made from - mine has an ebony board but yours looks different.

Wenge, i would assume yours is wenge too, unless it's some sort of custom shop/one off?

No, mine is Ebony and it wasn't a special order. Got it from the bass centre in Wapping in 2000 and there were three to choose from, all with Ebony boards:

Thumb NT is Tigerstripe Ebony board, there is a strange belief amongst some that all Warwicks come with Wenge nowdays which is not true.
Many models use ebony

Gah, stop posting photos of all those lovely Thumb NTs! I love my Thumb BO to bits but it was a bit of a compromise as I couldn't possibly afford the neck-thru at the time

The bolt on is a great bass.
Neck Through is just incredible though!

Although I am a wierd one, my favourite 2 are the Katana and Star Bass. Mostly because I'm a big lad and the large bodies sit well on me
