Moggy
Hi all Fender produced a Gold jazz bass from about 1981 - 1982 is anyone aware if they also created a gold colour precision around the same time?? Cheers Rob
OutToPlayJazz
The only one I can find is the 1981 "International Series" in Sahara Taupe - Close enough? Apart from that, there was an official Fender colour called "Firemist Gold" in the mid sixties, like this one... Rob[/quote] Well what do you expect? I'm afraid that when you go looking for rare Fenders you need a decent bank account. There was a gold '62 reissue in Vintage and Rare for a while (might still be there) and IIRC that was around £1000 for a used and recent reissue. IMO if you want a gold Precision, buy an MIJ and get Martin Simms to do the finish Chris

LawrenceH
Those gold basses should look like awful tat, but for some reason they're among my favourite styled basses of all time, especially the jazzes with their bound necks. That P price has got to be worth it if it plays/sounds as good as it looks.
