Bassassin
Fuxake! I thought I was gyppo-ing it to the max when I got £80 for one of them! Plus he should've left it stock - at least the pup - the stock pickup on these is surprisingly good. Jon.

Tbh i like it, one of the few natural finishs i have seen and not wanted to cover it in paint, bit pricey for me though Edited April 25, 2010 by Metalmoore

And it's 1970s, made in Taiwan, not what the ad says. Go to a few car boots & you'll probably find one for £20. I've had two. J.

In all seriousness though, if anyone wants one of these I've got one (well, 99% of one) sitting here unused, so PM me. A
Annoying Twit
I quite like the stripey neck on that one.
BassBod
I started on one of these - something like £50 new in 1980/81. Not Japanese, very heavy body, neck made of who knows what. Did sound pretty good though. I think I've still got the truss rod cover somewhere. Any more than £20 is a crime...
Jerry_B
I used to have a Kay Jazz fretless, which was very good - sadly had to sell it years ago when in dire need of cash.

Very common neck construction on early JapCrap too, which is probably where the Taiwanese manufacturers got the idea. Unlikely to warp or twist in a hurry. J. It is pretty effective too - the same approach was used on the Kubicki Factor basses, and they hardly qualify as cheap crap! A

Annoying Twit
IMHO the stripey neck continuing into the headstock looks quite sophisticated to me. I'm not saying the neck is high quality, but it's the kind of look I could easily imagine on a high end bass. So, I'm not surprised to hear about the Kubicki bass. Not having a brand on the headstock ruins it a bit thought
