Lenny B
Let's see; Fender Precision Lyte - 1989 to present (de-fretted 1995) Jackson rock something or other - 1993 to 95 Tobias Toby Pro-4 - 1994 to 1997 (I miss this one) Warwick Streamer Stage 1 5 string - 1997 to 2007 Can't remember brand cheapish electro acoustic - 1997 to present (but out on loan) Fender Jazz '75 RI Japan - 2003 to present Musicman 5 string - 2007 to 2010 Fender Precision '72 RI Japan - 2010 to present Amps: Marshall 60w Combo - 1989 to 1992 Fender BXR 300 Combo - 1992 to 1993 (really heavy) Hartke 2000 head - 1994 to 2009 Trace Elliot 1153 cab - 1994 to 2009 Trace Elliot 210 cab - 1996 to 2009 Genz Benz Shuttle 3.10 combo - 2010 Genz Benz Shuttle 210 cab - collecting next week! The first realisation is I've had my Fender Lyte for 21 years! The second is that I had an amp for 15 years! The third is that of the 8 basses I've owned, I still have 4 The fourth is that I should have a Fender Japan endorsement! Writing it out brings so much clarity! If you count practice amps, 4 combos, 2 heads, 2 cabs. Still have 1 combo, 1 head and 2 cabs.

Rich
17 basses in total, still got 10. 13 amps (incuding combos) and 10 cabs in total, still got 3 amps and 3 cabs. Of course, as we know the real dreaded question is: "So why have you got so many basses when you've only got one pair of hands?". Experience has taught me that the best answer to this question is NOT "Well, why have you got so many skirts when you've only got one fat arse to wrap them round?" Schnozzalee
I'd also like to point out, I had a guitar teacher of 55 years young and he owned 130 guitars/basses/mandolins/bazoukis etc and he bought another flat to house them...

NJE
Wow, some of you guys have some serious bass related issues! ha ha fascinating reading but I dont even come close to some of the leaders. Bafore Basschat, BassTalk etc (over about 7 years): Yamaha RBX 260 Squier Silver Series Jazz Vintage Stingray 5 Copy Fender USA Precision Ibanez ATK 305 Tanglewood Rebel Fretless MusicMan Stingray 4 Since Basschat etc (about 3 years ish) Warwick Streamer Pro M Fender Roscoe Beck V Fender CIJ 64 Reissue Overwater Progress III Squier Deluxe Active Jazz Thats actually quite reasonable although my girlfriend would completely disagree. Only Got the Overwater and Squier Deluxe now so doing ok but thats only because I dont have a lot of money, there would be at least 6 more basses on there if I earnt even a little bit more cash. Stu-khag
I cant really count borrowing a bass off a friend (bc rich duff gnr lookalike with 3 pups) as my first so Ive had 4 basses and 3 rigs fender mim jazz bass Hamer cruise bass (sold onto a friend-just played it recently live and it sounds great! still hate the colour though) Prosebass fretless (sold onto another mate so as to fund the double bass) 1 double bass (chinese laminate thing, loving it at the mo) Laney dp150 combo (4x10 cab + big head with lots of dials= bloody heavy) Laney rbg combo (15 " speaker, currently on loan to a friend) SWR 350 head and triad (sold on last years due to lack of gigs/space)
mcgraham
Wow, impressive bass histories! There are some people whose history I cannot wait to read, though I may need to set a couple of hours aside to read through the list. My history is 8 basses, of which I still have 5... and I only wish to have 3. In chronological order: Squier P-bass (scrapped) Ibanez SR3006E (sold) Fender US Jazz bass (defretted and for sale) Yamaha RBX 270F (backup beater presently on loan) Fender Geddy Lee (now uber-modded - backup workhorse) Smith BSR 'Custom' 5 (sold) Wood&tronics Chronos 'Klimt' 5 (main fretted) Wood&tronics Zoid 'Hyperbass' 5 (main fretted)
