Ian Savage
Decided to shift this on outright then look at getting something a bit more simple once I've moved house - 700W into two ohms (Laney state it's 1500W, but that's bollocks - still stupid-loud though! The problem with these heads is the over-sensitive protection circuitry, which tends to trip the amp out at gig levels - HOWEVER I've found that running a compressor into the front end of it removes this problem totally, so I'm including the Yamaha compressor pedal I've been using with it. Features-wise, this has got loads - you can run bridge-mono into four ohms, use the inbuilt active crossover to feed high and low cabs with variable crossover point, or just run the two power amps into four ohms each. As you can see from pics, it's got a foot-switchable graphic, plus high and low rotary equalisers, Speakon outputs, pre/post-switchable XLR DI out, plus a tube/solid-state hybrid preamp with independent gain controls. I'm including the customised Crate footswitch which I've been using with it, which will switch the graphic, the pre-shape contour and switch the FX loop in and out (actually, I've just had a 'dead' jack in the FX send which effectively makes the FX a mute switch for tuning via the tuner send), and the icing in the cake is the perfectly-fitting military-grade hardcase it comes with. My brother who's in the forces referred to this as a 'Pelican case' when he saw it, and who am I to argue - apparently they drop these things out of planes, so no reason to doubt its durability! A couple of the EQ slider LED 'holders' have one side broken off, but all works as it should - this is pretty weighty with the case, so collection or meetup in West Midlands/Warwickshire would be ideal, but I can price up a courier if needs be! tayste_2000
Would you sell the case separately?

Make me an offer I can't understand...
